This probably makes things much harder but just thought I'd add to the idea. ![]() You could spawn into an unavoidable collision with an asteroid, essentially making that similar to a new survival start where you've gotta setup a small base of operations to repair ship, build warp gate etc. Add an element of danger to the FTL that it spawns you somewhere randomly on the new map with you already moving at full speed. You could then build a warp gate as an anchor point, to link the various save files. You have an exploration ship that when you activate the warp drive, it randomly generates a new save file and spawns you there with your ship. That's where having a ship buildable item for FTL would come in handy. Tau Battlesuits incorporate many different types of Tau weapons systems and armour and are the foremost sign of reputation and honour amongst the warriors of the Fire Caste - they are the apex of the Taus military technology. ![]() and require you to build mining ships refineries etc in the new locations first anyway. A Tau Battlesuit is an advanced powered combat exoskeleton that forms an integral part of the Tau Fire Castes military forces. Gates would require you to manually exit and start a 2nd save, build a gate to link to (gotta have a corresponding end point for them to make sense). Big ships have to initially travel to a new location before building a gate. ![]()
